Akshaye Khanna, born on March 28, 1975, is a popular Indian actor known for his work in Hindi films. He is the son of the famous actor Vinod Khanna. Akshaye made his acting debut in 1997 with the film Himalay Putra. However, it was his next film, Border, also released in 1997, that brought him significant recognition and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
Akshaye Khanna gained further popularity with his roles in Taal (1999) and Dil Chahta Hai (2001). His performance in Dil Chahta Hai won him another Filmfare Award, this time for Best Supporting Actor. Over the years, he appeared in several successful films such as Humraaz (2002), Hungama (2003), Hulchul (2004), 36 China Town (2006), and Race (2008).
In 2012, Akshaye Khanna took a break from acting but returned to the film industry in 2016 with the action-comedy Dishoom. He also appeared in thriller films like Mom (2017) and Ittefaq (2017). His performances in Section 375 (2019) and Drishyam 2 (2022) were particularly well-received, with Drishyam 2 becoming one of his highest-grossing films.
Akshaye Khanna was born to Vinod Khanna and Geetanjali Taleyarkhan and has an elder brother named Rahul Khanna. He attended Bombay International School and Lawrence School, Lovedale. Although he struggled with academics, he was very good at sports.
In addition to his notable films, such as The Accidental Prime Minister (2019), Sab Kushal Mangal (2020), and State of Siege: Temple Attack (2021), Akshaye Khanna starred in Love You Hamesha (2022) and continued to receive praise for his acting skills. He is expected to appear in the upcoming series Legacy and the film Chhava, with another film titled Dhurandhar slated for release in 2025.
